I Swing My Sword

I Swing My Sword

“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” — Ephesians 6:17

Have you ever felt like life was swinging at you from every direction—fear, anxiety, financial pressure, family challenges, health concerns, or battles in your mind?

God has not left you defenseless. He gave you a sword.

The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. But a sword only works when you use it.

When Do You Swing Your Sword?

Against everything that’s trying to swing against you!

When anxiety attacks, swing the Sword.
Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us to bring our worries to God and trust His peace.

When finances get tight, swing the Sword.
Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God will supply our needs.

When your marriage is under pressure, swing the Sword.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us that a three-stranded cord is not easily broken.

When your health is challenged, swing the Sword.
Isaiah 53:5 points us to Christ and His sacrifice.

When your mind is under attack, swing the Sword.
Romans 12:2 reminds us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

When your children need covering, swing the Sword.
Isaiah 54:13 declares that our children will be taught by the Lord and experience great peace.

What Does the Sword Do?

The Word of God defeats temptation, exposes lies, brings conviction, produces faith, gives wisdom, sanctifies us, and leads us to victory.

Jesus demonstrated this in Matthew 4. When Satan tempted Him, Jesus responded with three powerful words:

“It is written.”

Jesus knew the Word, spoke the Word, and stood on the Word.

We have to do the same.

If It Ain't In You, You Can't Give It

You can't speak what you don't know.

You can't live what you haven't studied.

You can't swing a sword you never learned to use.

To give it, you've got to know it.
To know it, you've got to study it.
To study it, you've got to make time for it.
To live it, you've got to be in the Word daily.

So pick up your Bible. Read it. Study it. Speak it. Live it.

When fear swings—Swing the Sword.

When anxiety swings—Swing the Sword.

When the enemy attacks—Swing the Sword!

Know the Word. Speak the Word. Live the Word. Swing the Sword.

I Swing My Sword!
