When Life Gets Shaken, What Will Still Stand?

A Life Built on the Right Foundation Will Weather Any Storm

Have you ever noticed that storms have a way of revealing what is really underneath?

A strong wind can expose a weak structure. A heavy rain can reveal cracks that were hidden beneath the surface. In the same way, the storms of life reveal the foundation our lives are built upon.

In Matthew 7:24–27, Jesus tells the story of two builders. Both built houses. Both worked hard. Both faced the same storm. But when the rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew, only one house remained standing.

Why?

Because one builder built on the rock.

The difference was not the storm. The difference was the foundation.

The strength of your life is not determined by the storms you face, but by the foundation you stand on.

Storms are a part of life. We all experience moments of uncertainty, disappointment, change, and challenges. But Jesus shows us that a life built on Him can withstand anything that comes against it.

A Strong Life Starts With a Strong Foundation

Hear God’s Word

A lasting life begins with listening to God’s voice. His Word gives us direction, wisdom, and strength for every season.

But hearing is only the beginning.

Apply God’s Word

Jesus said the wise builder was the one who heard His words and put them into practice (Matthew 7:24).

A strong foundation is built through obedience—through choosing God’s way even when it is difficult, inconvenient, or countercultural.

Faith is not just what we know. Faith is what we live.

Build Your Life on Christ

Everything else can shift. Circumstances can change. People can disappoint. Plans can fail.

But Jesus remains constant.

When Christ is the foundation, storms may shake you, but they will not destroy you. You may bend, but you will not break. You may face pressure, but you will continue to stand.

The Storm Is Coming—Build Before It Arrives

The goal is not to avoid every storm. The goal is to be prepared when the storm comes.

Don’t wait until the winds are blowing to strengthen your foundation. Build now. Seek God now. Trust Him now. Walk in obedience now.

A life anchored in Christ is a life that stands.

The question is not whether storms will come. The question is: what are you building your life on?
